Our History
How Quantum Got Its Start
Quantum Machine Works Ltd. was founded in 1993. At the time, Quantum was a two-person shop operating out of an 1800 square foot shop. Quantum specialized in precision machinery repair work, line boring, precision fabrication and welding.
Owner Martin hired his first apprentice, Lee Johnson, in 1994.
Increasing Business
In 1999, Quantum built a new shop and began plans to gear up for in-house manufacturing. In 2001, Quantum purchased its first CNC lathe and mill. Local businesses took notice and business took off.
While still supporting the types of work that Quantum was founded on, these days, precision manufacturing is a major part of business. Quantum Machine Works Ltd. now has twenty employees and twenty-two precision CNC machines, supplemented by a full manual machine shop and a precision fabrication and welding shop. We also have a Lincoln system 30/Fanuc 100 IB welding robot.
Quantum Machine Works Ltd. has always been a proud supporter of Skills Canada, a number of our apprentices have competed in the Canada skills competition and two have gone and competed in the world skills competitions. We are proud of our dynamic workforce here at Quantum Machine Works Ltd.
